Olly Glover MP officially opens Tech Foundry at Harwell Campus

Olly Glover, MP for Didcot and Wantage officially opened Tech Foundry at Harwell Campus, a groundbreaking set of new facilities designed to accelerate the growth of technology, manufacturing and life sciences sectors.

The two buildings are designed to help bolster the region’s reputation as a hub for innovation by providing nearly 150,000 sq. ft of advanced manufacturing and R&D space.

Tech Foundry 1 and 2 are the latest additions to the Campus’ 600 initiative, which will see a further 600,000 sq. ft of innovation and collaboration space built at the campus over the next couple of years.

Speaking at the launch event, Olly Glover, MP for Didcot and Wantage, said: "The opening of Tech Foundry marks a significant milestone in our efforts to continue to position the region as a leader in science and technology. I am delighted to see the vision for Tech Foundry come to life and look forward to the positive impact the Campus and its members will have on our economy and society."

Daniel Pagella, Senior Director of Asset Management at Harwell, added: "We were delighted to welcome Olly Glover to officially open Tech Foundry, a space designed to help businesses turn ideas into reality more quickly. We’re looking forward to supporting our member community at Harwell as as they continue to develop novel technologies that benefit us all.”

The opening of Tech Foundry follows just days after the National Quantum Computing Centre a new national laboratory dedicated to accelerating development of quantum computing for the UK, was formally opened by the Minister of Science, Research and Innovation, Lord Vallance.
