Prime Minister Andy Burnham and NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte visited the Harwell Science and Innovation Campus in Didcot on 16 September 2026.
The visit highlighted Harwell's growing space cluster alongside its expanding defence and security sector.
Following a tour of RAL Space, the leaders met representatives from Astroscale, Space Solar, Open Cosmos and Oxford Dynamics as part of an industry showcase.
The visit came shortly after King Charles III officially opened the UK Space & Defence Gateway at Harwell, marking another milestone for the campus.
Harwell continues to bring together science, technology, national capability and industry, spanning space exploration, satellite technology, defence, security and advanced engineering.
